RAABE is a leader in providing continuous professional learning and qualification for teachers. As part of their 5th National Conference “Teachers in Action”, RAABE wanted to present their audience with a live online training on the topic of “Effective Agile Learning & Teaching Practices”
They wanted a training covering the entire EduScrum methodology in less than an hour. They also wanted the training to enable teachers in implementing what they’ve learned, while also incentivizing them to pursue further development through the programs offered by RAABE.
A 40-minute live online masterclass that takes participants through the entire methodology of EduScrum using practical and relevant examples on how to implement the framework in the classroom.
1. The Method
EduScrum is an educational approach derived from the agile management
framework called Scrum. The challenge here was two-fold.
- Explain the origin, significance, and transfer of the methodology from the management to education without taking too long
- Translate the terminology so that the audience doesn’t feel alienated by its origin
- Know what to add and what to omit
2. Relevance & Self-Recognition
One of the biggest challenges for such shorter educational formats is
inviting participants to see themselves implementing the presented material.
Good examples stimulate learners to see themselves using the new tools.
This is why each concept from the EduScrum framework had a practical and
relevant example demonstrating its ease of use in the context of education for the audience.
Each learning point was delivered in 1 to 5 sentences.
There is no grand secret behind this level of accuracy.
It all comes down to a simple equation:
Precision equals Preparation through Practice.
To do that I work in iterations – going back and forth between
articulating each point verbally and in writing, until flow between
message and the presentation is unified.
Doing this guarantees not only accuracy, it also enhances the audience’s comprehension.
